Marcin Kapron is a Polish-born American cinematographer based in New York City, known for his emotionally driven visual storytelling and international perspective. Growing up in a then-communist Poland and later moving to NYC as an adolescent had a deep impact on how he sees the world—and shaped the way he connects with people through the camera. That cultural shift played a major role in his emotional growth and continues to inform the stories he tells today.

His passion for images began at age 10, when he received his first camera as a gift. After arriving in New York, that early curiosity turned into a love for street photography, where he discovered the power of light, movement, and spontaneous human moments. He went on to study at The New School, and later returned to Poland to refine his craft at the renowned Łódź Film School.

Marcin’s career spans narrative films, documentaries, music videos, fashion campaigns, video art, and live concerts. His work has brought him to a wide range of environments—from medieval castles and the Amazon Jungle to the Large Hadron Collider, Mt. Kilimanjaro, and the highlands of Nepal. No matter the scale or setting, he brings the same thoughtful, human-centered approach to every project.

He has lensed six feature-length narrative films, along with numerous shorts and documentaries. His multicultural background and personal journey continue to shape how he approaches each project—with sensitivity, empathy, and a focus on emotional authenticity. Whether working on an indie drama or a commercial set, Marcin is drawn to natural light, intimate framing, and a sense of visual honesty that lets stories unfold on their own terms.

When on set, Marcin thrives in collaboration—he believes great work comes from strong, respectful teamwork. He’s known for his easygoing nature, can-do attitude, and ability to stay calm under pressure. A natural problem solver, he’s quick to adapt and always ready to support the crew in making the best possible film.

At the core of his work is a belief that cinematography should serve the story—not overshadow it. For Marcin, the camera is a tool for connection, not just composition. Fluent in both English and Polish and comfortable working across cultures, he thrives in international productions where adaptability, trust, and intuition matter most.

He continues to seek out projects that challenge him both creatively and emotionally—stories that explore transformation, identity, and the quiet, powerful moments that connect us all.
